Where the River Burns is Juliette Minchin's first solo exhibition.
Organised by Anlam de Coster, the exhibition takes place in the cistern and cold rooms of the recently unearthed 16th-century hammam. Minchin was invited by de Coster to develop a site-specific project in dialogue with the history of the hammam's layered materials, architectural memory and enduring rituals. Her intervention, based on the alchemical transformation of materials such as wax, tin and paper, explores the themes of purification, divination and healing.
